The Lanzerac Tasting Room offers its patrons the opportunity to explore the Estate’s range of acclaimed wines whilst surrounded by the breath-taking views of the Stellenbosch valley.

The daily cellar tours, guided by one of the Estate’s expert Wine Advisors, offer visitors the opportunity to tour the working wine cellar and explore the rich heritage of the Estate.

Boschendal is one of the oldest Farms in South Africa, founded in 1685, the farm has grown with the passing centuries into a cherished source of wholesome produce, great wines and happy memories.

Boschendal is located in the Drakenstein Valley and was inhabited by nomadic Khoisan communities for tens of Centuries prior to colonisation of the Cape.

The first title deeds to Boschendal were granted to the French Huguenot Jean le Long in 1685 by Simon van der Stel, the first governor of the Cape Colony.

It was subsequently bought by Abraham de Villiers in 1715 and remained in that family for 164 years.

In 1897 custodianship of Boschendal passed into the hands of the mining magnate Cecil John Rhodes who saw a lucrative opportunity in fruit farming.

Rhodes Fruit Farms was established and began exporting deciduous fruit to Britain on a large scale.

In 1976 the beautifully restored Boschendal farmstead and winery was opened to the public for the first time and began to emerge as the icon it is today of the Cape winelands.

From Fairview Wine and Cheese

“Fairview is first and foremost a producer of a range of wines and it is this heritage that supports and underpins all other activities. Over the past twenty years, Fairview has developed a respected and awarded cheese business, initially focused on goats’ milk production but today producing a large range of Jersey cows’ milk products too. The cellar door experience is focused on a real Winelands experience, with a simple offering of wine and cheese tasting, cellar door sales and a farm eatery. The difference at Fairview is the attitude of the people who work here, making it one of the most visited farms in the Winelands.”

POST CARDS CAFE

Postcard Cafe is named because of its ‘picture perfect’ views, but also because of the diverse heritage of the owners of Oude Nektar farm, and guests who visit from all corners of the globe. Situated in the peaceful Jonkershoek Valley, home of Stark-Condé Wines, it really is “as pretty as a postcard”. Café tables on the covered veranda look out over the charming lake and floating wine tasting room, surrounded by the dramatically beautiful Stellenbsoch mountains. A variety of savoury and sweet dishes are served – breakfast, lunch, cakes, and desserts. The menu is diverse and dishes draw inspiration from a number of different cuisines.
